  • Compression type shower drains come in PVC, ABS, and brass. These are for use with steel, fiberglass, and plastic . Install a compression shower drain by first installing the drain onto the shower base.

Glue on shower drains come in ABS and PVC. If you have a get the shower drain that matches. Otherwise, you will need to get a transition glue to properly combine the two different plastics together. Like the compression type shower drains this type of drain can be used with steel, fiberglass, and plastic shower bases.

  • The Pull Tight Compression shower drain (I think) is good as it can be done from one side (i.e. don't have to lift the shower base). So, in the future, if it leaks, I can replace it without lifting the base.

that looks to me like a plain ole 2" compression shower drain.

the plastic pipe slides up from the bottom and a rubber donut seals it to the drain from above.
