The bad part about the standard shower drain, I have to measure carefully the drain pipe height so that the drain body top fit exactly the bottom-height of shower base drain hole to prevent leak. I think this is tricky.
Installing a standard shower drain without removing the stall will require access to underneath the stall area. The drain consists of two parts that are screwed together with common threads and connected to the drain pipe underneath. Some modern replacement products allow the drain replacement without going underneath the shower stall. These are much easier to install and will last for many years.
